If the city likes its cliques enough to pick up a group of doctors from the same hospital, sucking in a - whatever the collective noun for a group of werewolves is wouldn't surprise me.

Do you want to know them all?

Anyone from your world. Anyone named for a color. Women who don't know how to dress. Anyone who smells like a narcotic. Men who try too hard, or attempt to make me do something I'm not interested in. People who are wet. Anyone who tries to touch me first.

And after that it's a case by case scenario.

[It's a... sweet enough (from her) sentiment that Chase doesn't even consider pointing out that she's had just about everyone here from his world already (and the last candidate is - well, she isn't a candidate). He just curls his fingertips gently under her knees leaning in a little.]

[She tilts her head. This is her issue, not his. She's acting on him, not the other way around]

[She's his issue, and a boat he's trying desperately not to upset. He knows the damage that can be done by wanting more.

So he nods and doesn't meet her eyes. He looks at the jeep, instead.]

Anything left I can give you a hand with?

[A hand being holding her wrench while she executes perfection, but still.]

I was about finished, for the night.

Have you ever fixed a car?

I kept something like this running long enough to strand a few of us in the bush one Winter break. Fixed would be an exaggeration.

I suppose everyone starts somewhere.

[She leans over and presses a kiss against his hair]

[He laughs, looking up and catching her loosely around the waist before she can lean back.]

I pay a mechanic whenever what I'm driving is more expensive than the scrap value of its parts.

[She's caught, balancing very precariously, but leaning into him slightly, too.]

[This might almost be an attempt to unbalance her in his direction.]

[She looks at him for a moment, and it's clear that she's parsing that sentence in her head]

[She kisses him back, her fingers going to his hair. She finds his hair endlessly fascinating]

I'm starting to develop an awareness for your sense of humor.

[It's a horrible, terrible trigger point which he allowed to grow long entirely on purpose, and her attentions always make his breath catch just a little.]

Not quite the same as an appreciation for it, but we've all got to start somewhere.

[She presses her lips to his hairline, just like that]

[He tilts his face up, greedy.]

A little more perceptive.

[She's always perceptive, though, she watches everything, records everything, even things she might not totally understand, to parse them out later. She presses a kiss to his mouth]

[And that isn't something he's unaware of. It comes out too bluntly sometimes, unclouded by emotion, but the questions she asks are too often laser targeted to an exact nerve. He'll never have clinical detachment down so pat.]

Just a little quicker. [She's impossible to unbalance and he cedes instead, the wheels of the creeper rocking back as he moves over her.]

[She moves her legs so they're splayed for a moment, giving him space, then she moves them over his so she has to hold onto him for a moment.]

I'm very fast.
